Conor McGregor has not defended his lightweight title in over a year. With Conor out, the division has to move along. After an impressive win over Edson Barboza, Dominance MMA represented athlete, Khabib Nurmagomedov, will fight for the lightweight title in Brooklyn, New York against Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson. The two were scheduled to fight on 2017, but Khabib was forced to pull out due to medical reasons. This bout is one of the most highly anticipated fights in lightweight history. The winner will take home the lightweight championship and potentially face Conor McGregor upon his return. UFC 223 will take place in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on April 7.
